CARAM was started in 2001 with the intention of taking the native Indian system of medicine to the general public. That was the period when Ayurvedic was not so well accepted by the public and also allopathic medical fraternity. Hence CARAM felt that there was a strong need to sell the concept of Ayurveda first and then the product. CARAM therefore felt the need for introducing such products where there was a clear cut differentiation between allopathic system and the Ayurvedic system where the Ayurvedic product had an extra advantage. Hence CARAM started focusing on niche segments where there was a dire necessity and need for a better and safer medicines.
